« Adults-only » is used loosely across the Riviera, often meaning little more than a quiet atmosphere. Here it reflects the layout of the property itself. This article explains what that means in practice, and how to plan an adults-only romantic getaway on the French Riviera that actually delivers on the promise.
What adults-only means here
This is not a preference about guests. It reflects three concrete features of the property.
The pools and spas open directly onto the terraces, with no safety barriers or the protective equipment that hosting children would require.
The access paths include steps without suitable guarding.
And no child equipment is available — no cot, no high chair, nothing of the kind. The gîtes are furnished for two adults.
Rather than welcome families into unsuitable surroundings, we prefer to say so clearly before you book.
What this changes for your stay
No shared spaces at all. No reception, no communal pool, no breakfast room. You can spend an entire stay without seeing anyone.
No timetables. A late swim, a long lie-in, dinner at ten — when an amenity serves one property only, there is nothing to regulate.
And genuine quiet at night, which is the single most common thing guests mention when they leave.
Our three gîtes
To be clear about what you will find: L’Asti and Le Chianti each have a private heated pool (around 30 °C) and a jacuzzi. Le Bari has a private three-seater spa with massage jets, but no pool.
Each welcomes two guests, with a private terrace and no overlook, a queen-size bed, air conditioning, a fully equipped kitchen, high-speed Wi-Fi and free private parking.

Where we are, and why it matters
The estate sits in the hills at Roquefort-les-Pins, in the countryside behind the coast. Antibes and the beaches are 12 km away, Nice 24 km, Cannes around 20 km, Grasse 17 km and Nice airport 16 km.
What this distance buys you: no night-time traffic, cooler evenings than on the seafront — the coastal towns release the heat their concrete stores all day — and free parking, which is a genuine problem in summer.
The trade-off is real: a car is necessary. Public transport serves the hinterland poorly. Hiring at the airport on arrival is the simplest approach.
Choosing when to come
September and October are our recommendation. The sea is at its warmest, the sites are clear, the light is beautiful and rates are lower than in high summer.
April to June brings the countryside at its best, with mild temperatures. The sea is still cool, which is precisely where a heated pool earns its place.
Winter is quieter than most visitors imagine, and a heated spa is at its most rewarding when the air is cold.
July and August work if you adapt the rhythm: out early, back to the pool through the hottest hours, out again after six.
Three things worth getting right
Stay at least three nights. On two, arriving and unwinding takes up most of the visit. The third night is when the pace actually changes.
Plan one outing a day, no more. Trying to see Nice, Cannes and Monaco in three days means spending them in the car. Our guide to luxury gîtes with a private pool covers what to check before booking.

Frequently asked questions
Are children accepted?
No. The layout does not allow it: pools open directly onto the terraces without safety barriers, the access paths include unguarded steps, and no child equipment is available. We prefer to state this before you book.
Do all three gîtes have a pool?
No. L’Asti and Le Chianti each have a private heated pool with a jacuzzi. Le Bari has a private spa with massage jets and no pool.
Is the pool usable outside summer?
Yes. The water is kept at around 30 °C, which makes swimming comfortable from spring through autumn. The jacuzzi and spa are heated all year round.
In short
Adults-only here means a property built for two adults, with no shared spaces and no timetables. Stay at least three nights, plan one outing a day, and come in spring or autumn if you can — that is when the Riviera is at its best and its quietest.
